Making the Most of the Situation

Today was a little more difficult with an uneasy night. Tully was having a hard time getting going today. With an I.V. in both arms, it's a little hard to go far. The room is about as cheerful as we can make it without moving some of our own furniture in and calling in the painters. Tully received a beautiful orchid today from Charles. There are two stems, but you get the idea from the one above.
You probably can't see the skyline very well, but in the middle of the night it looks beautiful with the buildings slightly glowing.

The photograph doesn't do this arrangement that was delivered today from Bill and Cindy justice. Incredible vase with sticks, leaves and a succulent.

The nurses told us we were the only hospital room with wine. Allan and Shari came this evening for a little Shabbat celebration and I haven't figured out how to do that without the wine. Even if I could, I don't think I would want to and it was time for a glass after having the week we had. Tully left the wine out and opted for San Pellegrino and a shot of morphine.

This is what Tully looked like today while he had separate visits from Cindy S. and Frank. The food was in preparation for our little dinner with Alan and Shari. You have to make the most of where you are and make a fun memory to go with it, even if it is a hospital. We were working pretty hard to accompolish that until some of our friends showed up to help us.
We're looking for tomorrow to be a better day. Happy weekend everyone and thank you all for the cards, flowers and good thoughts sent our way.
