Because Tully's leg was swollen on Saturday morning, we thought he might have a spider bite. We did not even think this would be realated to the pain in his back right side Friday evening. After going to a local dermotologist on Monday, the doctor and his staff decided Tully had blood clots and not a spider bite. The doctor sent us immediately to the Emergency Room at Baylor where we were admitted and they were terrific at diagnosing the problem quickly. Tully does have a couple of blood clots in his right lung and one in his leg. Blood thinners are working their magic though.
So much for self diagnosis. Tests are being run and we're told he'll be in the hospital for 4 to 5 days.
We always dislike hospitals and don't want to inflict them on anyone. That being said we couldn't keep some people from visiting. Alan stopped by Tuesday afternoon and Tully's dad and Joanie came to visit Tuesday night. It did lift his spirits and we appreciated the visits and all the wishes from our friends. Thank all of you for your offers of help. I'll keep you posted with updates on this blog.
